Seamwork Catarina Dress

What's this?!?  A dress?!?  I haven't sewn a dress in ages!  I had been so caught up in tops and tees and bras that I haven't sewn myself a dress in quite a while.  As with my Stripey Linen Scout Tee I posted the other day, this baby was sewn up at the end of Me Made May 2016, so naturally I'm getting around to posting about it at the very end of July.

Dotted Adelaide Dress

You guys you guys you guys!  Spring has finally arrived in Ottawa!  So what does that mean sewing-wise?  Well, I'll probably not going to be spending as much time inside... but it also means fun spring and summer dresses & skirts!

To start off the sunny season, I sewed up a Seamwork Adelaide Dress in a Nani Iro double gauze I've been hoarding since last year.

Cat Lady Emery Dress

What?! Another dress!?  I am so in love with the print on this dress, and the cotton is incredibly soft.  For this sleeveless version of the Emery Dress, I used fabric from the Cotton & Steel Cat Lady line.

Navy Herringbone Emery Dress

Starting the new year off with a new dress.  I whipped this Emery Dress up in a couple days, so I could have something new to wear back to work on Monday.  I used the same pattern for my Party Dress, but this time it was so much easier since I was working with cottons.

I used a lovely navy herringbone chambray I bought from the workroom during their Black Friday sale back in November.  I bought two other fabrics from them that I'll be making more Emery dresses with.  I am seriously in love with this pattern!

2015 Christmas Party Dress

I'm back home after a quick Christmas visit with our families.  Hope you all had a great Christmas as well :)  Thankfully, we made it home before the snowstorm hit!  Ottawa woke up to a good 20+cm of snow, with more falling throughout the day today.
Since I'm stuck inside for the day, I'm finally back to some blogging!

For the past three years I've been making my dress for the office Christmas Party, and this year I had an idea in mind - and I managed to make exactly what I was imagining!

Happy Halloween!

Happy halloween, fellow sewists!  I didn't get around to sewing a costume this year, and just ended up wearing my roller derby stuff (skates too!) to work on Friday.  So, I'm sharing last year's costume!

Last year I stumbled across some fantastic water droplet printed cotton, and since my job revolves around rain and water, I figured dressing up as Ms. Frizzle from the water cycle episode would be perfect.  I whipped up a dress, wore it over a white button-up, and made a school bus + Liz out of a kleenex box and some construction paper.
